What is the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary?
- Volunteer service organization composed of men and women
- Established by Congress in 1939 to perform many support services for the U.S. Coast Guard
- Operates under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
- More than 35,000 members
- Provides boating safety services to recreational boaters
- Supports the U.S. Coast Guard in carrying out Operation: Patriot Readiness and many other functions
What Can You Expect from the Coast Guard Auxiliary?
- Many training courses, provided at no cost to members by way of classroom, internet and on the water training
